Mike Mantha, the MPP for Algoma-Manitoulin, is helping to keep pressure on Queen’s Park for Attawapiskat support. He says the NDP is looking for a long-term commitment from the province for on-going support for the First Nations community.
Mantha says they want to know the services that are being offered now won’t be pulled away once the media spotlight is off. This comes after more suicide attempts over the weekend.
The province has so far put $2 million worth of services into the community.
