The founder of the House of Kin is going to be honoured at a special retirement dinner next month. Chris Sheridan started the House of Kin almost 30 years ago, to help provide accommodations to families of medical patients who travel to Sudbury for treatment. Before the House of Kin was created, some families were forced to sleep in the hospital lobby or their cars, if they couldn’t afford a hotel room. The House of Kin is a non profit that relies on donations.
Former Elliot Lake resident Sister Sarah Quackenbush will be taking over the charity as Sheridan retires. His appreciation dinner is being held at the Caruso Club in Sudbury on May 9th.
