The Algoma District School Board is trying to nip a misperception in the bud. In two weeks, the province releases the salaries of publicly-paid employees making more than 100-thousand dollars a year.
Although the Algoma board complied with legislation to freeze the wages of senior management, next month’s list will still show increases. The board says it’s because last year it had 27 pay periods instead of 26.
It says this happens every 11 years and wants to assure people that despite what appears on the list, wages were frozen.
