Health Sciences North staff were treated to a special luncheon at the hospital yesterday.
Laura Owl of Sagamok-Anishinawbek First Nation says her family held an Indian Taco luncheon at the hospital’s Cancer Treatment Centre and Dialysis Unit as a gesture of appreciation for the compassionate care provided to their parents, Peter Owl Sr. And Judith Owl, during some of their most vulnerable moments.
She says Judith passed away in September 2024, but the family remains eternally grateful for the kindness and support received from the hospital.
Owl adds the luncheon was a way to honour her memory and thank the Indigenous Services Unit at the hospital.
