East Algoma OPP has charged an Elliot Lake man after a sexual assault investigation in Elliot Lake.
Constable Phil Young says last Friday, a family member reported that a 14-year-old girl had not returned home from school with police learning she had been picked up from school by a man driving a grey pickup truck.
He says after speaking with her, officers were told the accused used to drive her to a Blind River school in the past.
Young says after an investigation, police charged a 58-year-old with sexual assault of a person under 16 and more after officers say numerous sex offences occurred since November 2024.
The accused is to appear in Elliot Lake court on March 13th.
