The Municipality of Huron Shores says two of its councillors have resigned.
According to the release, Ward One Councillor Roger Mulligan has tendered his resignation, effective this past Monday, January 13th.
The Clerk’s Office received formal notice of this decision on the same date.
Earlier in the week, Mayor Matthew Seabrook also resigned on January 8th.
In accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001, the council will officially declare the council seat vacancies during its meeting this evening.
Following this declaration, the process to fill the vacancies will proceed as outlined by provincial regulations.
Municipal staff also extended their gratitude to Councillor Mulligan and Mayor Seabrook for their contributions to the municipality during their tenure and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
