Public Health Sudbury & Districts has issued a drinking water advisory for the Town of Kagawong.
Public health manager, Burgess Hawkins says the advisory means that people who take their water from the municipal system should not use it for any time of food or drinking consumption including brushing teeth, and even boiling it may not make it safe, so bottled water is the best choice.
However, the water can be used for laundry and dishes.
Hawkins says there was a malfunction, and although the water supply has been re-established, the health agency is erring on the side of caution under further testing is done.
He adds Public Health staff will continue to monitor the situation.
