In Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League weekend play, the Blind River Beavers battled back to slip past the Elliot Lake Wildcats 2-1 in a match-up held Sunday evening at Centennial Arena.
However, the Wildcats had a win under their hat on home ice after defeating the Espanola Express 5-4 Friday night.
The Express capped off the weekend with a win, 4 to 2 over the Soo Thunderbirds Saturday at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.
And the Blind River Beavers shut out the Soo Eagles Friday night, 3-0 at Pullar Stadium.
