Greater Sudbury Police say a 24-year-old is in stable condition in hospital following a shooting by police on Sunday.
The man shot by police is facing 14 charges including five counts of assault with a weapon, five counts of possession of dangerous weapons and four counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon.
His name has not been released.
The incident is under investigation by the province’s Special Investigations Unit.
According to city and police officials, the man was armed with knives and tried to get into the Greater Sudbury Bus transit security office, injured a worker and was aggressive with police.
