Elliot Lake council will be officially declaring a vacancy on council tonight.
Just two weeks ago, council removed Councillor Connie Nykyforak from all boards and committees, removed and then revamped the composition of the library board.
Nykyforak tendered her resignation three days later.
Mayor Dan Marchisella has indicated there is a former member of council who is interested in filling the position, which can be filled by either appointment or by-election.
The meeting gets underway at 7:00pm.
