A recent Canada Revenue Agency scam is urging the OPP to remind you about over the phone fraud.
The OPP says on July 3rd, a woman received a call from someone claiming to be from the CRA saying she owed money and to pay with an on-line gaming gift card. The woman purchased the gift card and lost an undisclosed amount of money.
The OPP says the CRA will never ask for personal information over e-mail or text and will never ask for payments by pre-paid credit cards or gift cards.
If you get one of these calls you are asked to call police.
