A pedestrian crash has killed a 30-year-old man from Nickel Centre. It happened on Monday night on Highway 17. Police say Chase Read stepped out onto the driving lane of an eastbound transport, and was hit by its right front corner. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene. The highway was shut down for about three hours as police investigated, it has since been reopened.
