Espanola city council is helping to bring a P.E.T scanner to Sudbury. The city is donating $3,500 to the fundraising initiative, which will bring the cancer scanning equipment to the northeast. Right now, the Sam Bruno PET Scan Fund has raised $2.2 million, and are almost halfway to their $5 million goal.
Espanola Mayor Ron Piche is now encouraging all other municipalities to follow suit and pitch in as well. He says a P.E.T. Scanner is needed for the people of Northeastern Ontario, and they are happy to be able to help close the financial gap in making this purchase a reality.
