The president of the Espanola Game and Fish Protective Association has mixed feelings over the spring bear hunt being extended to 2020. Leland Morley says while the extension is good news for hunters and outfitters, it’s not clear what the future brings.
Morley says looking ahead to 2020 when this current extension ends, he believes that public outcry will result in restrictions once again in some areas, and some wildlife managements may even be closed.
This year’s hunt begins May 1st and ends June 15th.
