Highway 17 is getting an upgrade to its classification. What used to be called a class two road is now a class one, which essentially means it will be getting winter maintenance quicker. Class one roads include the 401, QEW, and 11, and have to be cleared of snow within eight hours of a storm ending. The reclassification comes after a joint from the Lacloche Foothills Municipal Association and the MTO, stemming back to 2014.
