Massey Area Museum’s long-time curator has retired.
Carolyn Hein was presented with certificates from the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers and Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MPP, Carol Hughes, this weekend to mark her retirement.
Hein filled the position for over 20 years, hiring students, organizing displays, running tours and curating archives and memorabilia in that time.
In her honour, the museum board also renamed the gift shop as the Carolyn Hein Gift Shop.
Hein’s retirement not only included renaming the gift shop in her honour, but certificates from various levels of government, from left to right: PC Provincial MPP, Bill Rosenberg, Carol, Carol Hughes, retiring MP for Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing and Sables-Spanish Rivers Township Mayor Kevin Burke.
