Hughes out on the road enjoying presenting King Charles III Coronation Medals

In one of her last duties as an MP, Carol Hughes has been on a whirlwind tour through the former Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing riding this month presenting King Charles III Coronation Medals to deserving Canadians.
One of those recipients is Nairn & Hyman Township Deputy Mayor Trevor McVey who was presented with the medal while council and Espanola Firefighters looked on.
Hughes says the medal acknowledges his volunteerism and leadership roles with Muscular Dystrophy, the national fundraiser for firefighters, and for his ongoing work supporting numerous other local initiatives.
She says another worthy recipient is Reggie Leach of Manitoulin Island who has been a tireless advocate for Indigenous youth, adding he was also presented with the Little Native Hockey League Medallion for his contributions in supporting Indigenous hockey.
Hughes adds she has been on the road over the last while presenting the medals to recipients, many of them active volunteers in their own communities.
