Bill Rosenberg of Thessalon will represent Algoma-Manitoulin at Queens’ Park after garnering over 41% of the vote.
Rosenberg’s unofficial win means Algoma-Manitoulin will be part of the majority government with Doug Ford’s PCs winning over 80 seats.
He was elected to Thessalon’s town council in 2014 and served as Deputy Mayor before successfully becoming Mayor in 2018, with his race focusing on economic development, improving local infrastructure, and building stronger community connections.

The NDP candidate out of Elliot Lake, David Timeriski, came in second while Liberal Reg Niganobe out of Mississauga First Nation was third.
Provincially, it is a third majority for Doug Ford and his party.

The Liberals regained official party status, winning 14 seats; they only needed 12.
