National Capital Commission approves site for national reconciliation monument

The National Capital Commission has found the site for the national reconciliation monument.

According to the release, the Board of Directors has approved a site by the Ottawa River on Parliament Hill next to the West Block building.

A survivor-led steering committee, in collaboration with the Algonquin Anishinabe Nation and survivors, selected the site.

This monument will be a contemplative space to remember, honour, educate, heal, and reconcile with construction expected to begin in the Spring.
