Manitoulin OPP is investigating damage to a closed snowmobile trail.
Constable Berkley Parisien says last Saturday evening, OPP received a call of a pickup truck that drove onto a closed OFSC-maintained trail, causing significant damage.
She adds the vehicle was abandoned on the trail after it became stuck.
Parisien says the trails on Manitoulin Island are currently closed, and using an OFSC trail before it has opened is considered trespassing adding the trails are for the exclusive use of snowmobiles with a valid trail pass.
She says anyone has any information about the driver or the truck to call police.
