A five-day homeless challenge got underway in Elliot Lake yesterday.
The Elliot Lake Women’s Group (Inc.) is hosting the third annual Larry’s Place Homeless Challenge at 1 College Place.
The event aims to break the stereotypes and stigmas surrounding homelessness while raising awareness, educating the community, and generating funds to help eradicate homelessness in Elliot Lake.
During the challenge, staff and community members will spend five days living in conditions like those faced by the unhoused population.
Donations to Larry’s Place and Maplegate for Women are welcome.
