Whitefish River First Nation hosting Water Ceremony at river boat launch in Espanola

Whitefish River First Nation will be hosting a Water Ceremony at the Spanish River Boat Launch in Espanola, off Old Webbwood Road.

Project Engagement Coordinator Mike Jacko says it is being held at the boat launch to provide thanks for the waterways and the life within them.

He says the ceremony will take place at nine am this Friday in collaboration with Waasmowin Energy Incorporated.

Jacko adds the ceremony will be led by Lisa Osawamick following the opening remarks.

The public is invited to attend.

He asks anyone attending the ceremony to exercise caution for all public members who may want to utilize the area while ceremony is in progress.
