Flag-lowering in Espanola this morning

A flag-lowering will be held in Espanola at town hall this morning.

Victims Crisis Assistance Service Executive Director for Manitoulin and the North Shore Amy Collins says the public is invited to the signing Victims and Survivors of Crime Week Proclamation.

She says the event also includes the flags being lowered and a moment of silence for those lost to acts of crime.

Collins adds the goal of Victims and Survivors of Crime Week is to raise awareness about the issues facing the victims and the services, assistance, and laws in place to help those facing tragic and/or difficult outcomes due to crime.

The gathering takes place at nine am this morning.
