Truth and Reconciliation OPP vehicle visiting schools

If you spot a bright orange vehicle on the road, it is a new OPP cruiser decked out in honour of Truth and Reconciliation.

Manitoulin OPP Constable John Hill and Community Services Officer, Jamie Peltier are visiting local schools within the police jurisdiction.

Hill says the cruiser features orange and black insignias and features First Nation art.

He adds the OPP and Wiikwemkoong Tribal Police are working in partnership and utilizing the newly developed cruiser with Wiikwemkoong being the first Manitoulin Island First Nations community the vehicle visited early this week.

Hill adds students and staff at Wasse-Abin Junior and Pontiac schools were excited to tour the orange cruiser with meaningful images like the seven white feathers representing the Seven Grandfather Teachings.
