Cambrian College’s Espanola students donated some unique pieces of training apparatus to the Espanola Volunteer Firefighters yesterday.
Cambrian’s Rebeka Robin says Try a Trade students, in partnerships with A10 Fabrication, Home Hardware and the fire department, built a collapsible wall system that will be used in training local firefighters in search and rescue in a building setting.
She adds a few of the students were able to dress in firefighter gear and go through the process of how to rescue an individual from inside a building.
Fire Chief Mike Pichor extended a thank you to the sponsors for providing materials and training assistance with the system, which will now be stored at the fire hall for ongoing training purposes.
