Update: Evening gathering to honour Webbwood man

The community of Webbwood is gathering to honour a local man who has lost his battle with cancer.

The family of Tom Proctor says they appreciate all the support the community has been providing to Tom and his family, and this upcoming evening of remembrance will be held to honour his passing.

Proctor, who has lived in Webbwood his entire life, was a well-known volunteer firefighter for the Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.

He was initially diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020, which spread to his spine, hip, liver and back.

He passed away earlier this week, but the community is turning what was originally a fundraiser into a memorial to the devoted father, husband and volunteer.

Family and friends will gather tomorrow, Saturday, April 15th, from 6 pm to 1 pm at the Webbwood Eagles Club.

Tickets are $10 per person.

There will still be a door prize, raffles and a donation jar will also be set up.

For anyone who would like to donate they can e-transfer Andrea Leeson at [email protected].
