Ontario’s NDP leader says the province is against the sale of Hydro One. Andrea Horwath was in Elliot Lake last week talking about the town hall meetings she has been to. She has been asking for feedback on the potential privatization, and has been getting the same comments right across the province. She says people are in tears at times, and people see this is as the straw that is breaking the camel’s back.
Horwath says people are concerned about their bills, about jobs, and about those who are on a fixed income. Horwath says there is a lot of worry over the sale, which could raise electricity prices by up to 70 per-cent.
