A Blind River homeowner didn’t fall for a con artist claiming to be from VISA. The caller wanted personal information, saying the company needed to verify the person’s security question it had on file.
But the homeowner realized it was an attempt to steal information and hung up. The East Algoma OPP says companies you deal with already have your personal info so they’re not going to call you to verify what they already have.
