For over 25 years, the Handi-Transit service has operated as a partnership between the North Shore Health Network and the Town of Blind River in providing transportation services for older adults and clients with challenges.
Network spokesperson Melanie Kubatlija says the partners have initiated negotiations to transition the transportation services back to the Town of Blind River.
She says council passed a resolution this week directing the CAO to discuss with bus providers the management and day-to-day operations of the service.
She adds they anticipate the changeover slated for late fall will be as seamless as possible.
