Chi-Cheemaun set to sail

The Chi-Cheemaun is set to sail for the summer season.

The Owen Sound Transportation Company, which runs the service, says the ferry will resume operations next Tuesday, June 8th.

The company says the vessel runs from May to October between South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island and Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula, but had delayed the launch this season because of ongoing concerns with COVID-19.

The company adds the ferry’s reservation system reopened yesterday enabling travellers to reserve their spot either online or by telephone for departures starting on June 8 and running through the end of the season.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place including limiting the number of individuals who can sail at any given time, maintaining social distance and mandatory wearing of masks.
