Sagamok-Anishnawbek First Nation will not be sending its teams to the Little Native Hockey League tournament in Mississagua this week.
Chief and council made the decision after the World Health Organization officially declared the COVID 19 a pandemic yesterday.
Up to 228 teams were to attend the tournament, which starts Sunday, but several have already pulled out and some First Nations are now asking for organizers to consider postponing the event.
Organizers say they are still going ahead with the tourney.
