Elliot Lake council has removed Councillor Connie Nykaforak from all committees and boards.
Council passed the motion following a closed session of council on Monday evening.
No reason was publicly given for her removal.
Councillor Nykaforak was not present and could not be reached for comment.
Still with the story, council also removed all the members of the Elliot Lake Public Library Board and changed the number of members from seven to five to include two members of council and three members of the public.
Councillors Chris Patrie and Ed Pearce were then appointed as council representatives and a notice for three public volunteers was posted yesterday on the City’s website.
Daniel Gagnon, Chief Administrative Officer, was also appointed as recording secretary to the board.
