Elliot Lake council has passed the 2018 budget with no increase in taxes, thanks to additional funding and well placed reserves.
The city budget totals just under $23-million dollars $11 and a-half-million dollars coming from local taxation, the same level as last year.
Mayor Dan Marchisella and other members of council commended everyone for their work noting that some $15 million dollars is also in reserves for various projects, a good position the city has not been in for quite some time.
