Save AB Ellis Public School Meetings Resume Tomorrow

While construction of a new school for Sacred Heart students is to begin next Spring, a committee focusing on saving AB Ellis Public School from the wrecking ball will be starting up their meetings once again.

The Save AB Ellis Committee was formed just over a year ago when word went out that AB Ellis Public School is slated for demolishment after a new triple school construction is completed.

AB Ellis students moved into their new school last year, September 2016.

Sacred Heart students were then moved into AB Ellis temporarily until their new school is ready, likely 2020.

The committee has suggested various uses for the building and are working on having it designated a historical site, which will protect it from destruction.

Anyone interested in the committee is invited to attend their next meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, at 7:30 PM at the United Church in Espanola.
